Preparing Your Top for Machine Quilting
QUILT TOP
- Trim all threads.
- If your border/edge is pieced, sew a line of stay-stitching around the entire top. This will lock the seams
and keep them from coming un-sewn and prevent distortion of the top.
- Press quilt top.
BACKING
- Backing should be AT LEAST 8 inches wider and 8 inches longer than your top.
- If you piece your backing, the edges should be even – trim if necessary.
- Press the backing
OTHER
- Fold top and backing carefully.
- If you bring top and backing in a bag you want returned, please have your name and phone number attached to the bag.
- I am happy to let you pay me to trim, piece and press for you. Additional charges apply for each.
- There is no charge for touch-up pressing.
