Fashions for the 1940s! Keep in mind that these patterns are more than 60 years old! Most have damage to the pattern envelope corners and edges - this is not always noted in the description. Many have shoulder pads and these are not always mentioned in the description. Please email me to ask about specific envelope condition if that is important to you! If patterns have been cut, all pieces are present and in good condition unless otherwise noted. Pattern envelopes may have stamped or written marks from stores or previous owners. Only one copy of a pattern is available unless specifically stated otherwise.

$45 Size 16, Bust 34. Misses' and Women's Sun Dress and Bolero. A "Mother and Daughter Fashion". (Daughter is Simplicity 1296). The dress is styled with princess lines and supported by shoulder straps. A bow-trimmed fold outlines the upper edge of bodice and finishes the skirt. The cap-sleeved bolero is lined. In Style I, contrasting fabric is used for bolero lining, bow, straps and folds. In Style II, the contrasting bolero is lined with dress fabric. Style III, evening version, does not have skirt fold. Envelope is in poor condition as seen in photo. Unprinted pattern pieces have minor damage. Pattern is complete, mid-1940s.

Simplicity 1430
$15 Size 18, Bust 36. Blouse: Blouse is fitted with tucks at the front waistline and dart tucks at the back waistline. In Styles I and III, a shoulder yoke releases soft front fullness and tie ends which fasten in a bow are cut in one with the yoke. The blouse buttons down the front and the sleeves may be short or long and gathered to a wrist band. Style III has a back-button closing and cap sleeves with an underarm gusset. Three front openings are held in place by a neck band. Envelope in excellent condition for age, unprinted pattern is complete. 1945.

SOLD Size 16, Bust 34, Hip 37. Blouses: Sleeveless peplum blouse, to be made from printed square scarfs. Dropped shoulders, drawstring waist-line. Dart-fitted tuck-in with upstanding band collar - cropped shoulders. Crushed girdle included. Button-front style with or without Peter Pan collar. Long tied bow. Long sleeves gathered to buttoned cuffs and short sleeves. A Four Star pattern. 1940s.

$33 Size 12, Bust 30. Two-Piece Dress: Top is styled with princess lines which flare below the waistline. A double row of buttons makes a smart front closing. The skirt, cut in four sections, falls in an easy flare with fullness centered in back. Style I has three-quarter sleeves, finished with contrasting detachable cuffs which button to the sleeves and a shaped neckline. Style II has a round collar, contrasting ribbon bow at the neck edge and short sleeves trimmed with cuffs. Cut and complete, 1946.

SOLD Waist 26, Hip 35. Woman's One Piece Sun Dress and jacket: The side buttoning dress is supported by shoulder straps that are cut in one with the bodice back. The bodice is fitted with darts at the front underarm and back waistline and gathers at he front waistline. There is a fold a he upper edge of the bodice from which tie ends extend to form a bow. The skirt, cut in six sections, has front pleats A purchased or self belt may be used. The dart fitted jacket buttons at the waistline. The extended shoulders have an outside tuck in front. Envelope has tears and rips all around, as seen in photo. Cut, missing D Tie and R Front Jacket Facing. 1947.

Dickey Set: Style I, finished at the neckline with a pert, bow-tied collar, has a crisply tucked bosom. Style II has a smartly tailered notched collar. In Style III, the collar is youthfully round and Style V adds a scalloped, button closing. Lace makes Styles IV and VI daintily feminine. In Style VI, a pretty jabot adds a piquant note. UNPRINTED pattern, early 1940s.

Style I, made of striped fabric with the bands on the crosswise thread, has long sleevs and a convenient pocket at the lower right front. Style II has short sleeves finished with a band, a pocket at the upper left front and the banding is edge with piping. Envelope is in very good condition, no flap. Pattern is UNPRINTED and COMPLETE. 1943.
